Fujiwara no Noriyoshi (藤原範能)
FUJIWARA no Noriyoshi (year of birth and death unknown) was a government official of the late Heian period. His name was also written as 教能 ("Tale of Heike" 11). He originated from the FUJIWARA no Sadatsugu line of the Southern House of Fujiwara clan. He was the grandson of Shinzen, who had the title of Shonagon (lesser councilor of state). He was the son of FUJIWARA no Noriyoshi, who had the title of Sangi (councilor). His mother was the daughter of TAIRA no Noriie, who had the title of Jusanmi. His legal wife was the daughter of TAIRA no Narifusa, who was the Sagami no kuni no kami (a governor of Sagami Province), and his children were FUJIWARA no Arinori with Hisangi (advisor at large) with Shosanmi (Senior Third Rank) rank, and FUJIWARA no Shushi (or Nagako, the mistress of Kinfusa SANJO with the title of Grand Minister and the mother of SANJO Yushi), who had the title of Ankimonin.
He was given a peerage in 1167. He served as udoneri (Ministerial equerry), Owari no kuni no kami (Governor of Owari Province), Jibu taifu (Senior Assistant Minister of the Ministry of the Civil Administration), Hyoefu (Headquarters of the Middle Palace Guards), Konoefu (the Headquarters of the Inner Palace Guards), Tajima no kuni no kami (governor of Tajima Province), and Kuraryo (Bureau of Palace Storehouses). He was given the official court rank of jusanmi (junior third rank) and was assigned to be Dazai no daini (Senior Assistant Governor General of the Dazai-fu) in 1190. He retired from the Dazai no daini position in 1192 and became a Buddhist monk in October, 1196, but details about what happened afterwards remain uncertain.
